Joining a Start-Up? Here are Some Advantages and Disadvantages - Choose Your Path!!!

Freedom, Excitement and Environment

The best job place for a fresher will be a startup, since it offers almost the same environment as a college. Where you are always welcomed when you have an innovative idea, where you are not restricted to corporate rules especially with a dress code, where you can enjoy working and learn more about the business.  In a big company you will not get the freedom to be normal with your boss or be lenient with the time schedule or to hang out with the people whom you work with more often. But startups have vibes of sheer excitement. Thus work load will not be a big deal when you have a chilled out environment.
Lack of resources
When you shift to a new home things are bought or arranged in right places with so much effort and it might take months to fulfill your dream interior. For a startup it works the same way. The primary attention will be given to the deals not to the luxurious chairs and washrooms. The company will be running in a tight finance since it’s the beginning years so there will be lack of resources which an employee has to adjust with.
Personal growth and experience
When we talk about startups there are certain advantages for those who stick with the startup from the beginning. This includes if you are an initial employee and holds some stocks if the company become successful, you will be personally benefited.  A startup is the best platform to learn how to do a business it will provide you with lifetime experiences and your multi tasking skills will also be polished.
High risk and No place to hide
Joining a startup is surely like taking a calculated risk. The percentage of the risk depends upon how stable the startup is. There might be sudden financial issues, less of customer investments or a dispute among the partners which might result in shutting down the doors eventually you might end up in losing your job. An escape from a given work will not be possible since there will be only a few people to support the startup, thus you will have to take care of your responsibilities and avoid those extra hour lunch breaks.
Unstructured and more demanding
Startups are in a run to make it big in the industry but they are restricted with their finance which prevents them from hiring more employees. Thus working in a small company with limited number of resources might be a bit stressful. Nothing will be fixed in the organization not even your designation and responsibilities. As the company aims to grow inputs from each employee is needed thus the job may cause you an extra working hour, Saturday or cancelling your holiday plans.
Choose your path ... Best of luck !!!!

A new ‘Pain Sensing’ gene discovered!

Researchers analysed the genetic make-up of 11 families across Europe and Asia affected by an inherited condition known as congenital insensitivity to pain (CIP). This enabled them to pinpoint the cause of the condition to variants of the gene PRDM12. Family members affected by CIP carried two copies of the variant; however, if they had only inherited one copy from their parents, they were unaffected. PRDM12 had previously been implicated  in the modification of chromatin, a small molecule that attaches to our DNA and acts like a switch to turn genes on and off (an effect known as epigenetics). The researchers showed that all the genetic variants of PRDM12 in the CIP patients blocked the gene's function. The team looked at nerve biopsies taken from the patients to see what had gone wrong and found that particular pain-sensing neurons were absent. From these clinical features of the disease, the team predicted that there would be a block to the production of pain-sensing neur...
